About Michelle

Michelle brings 30 years of HR experience. 15 of those years have been in local and global biotech. Her scope of experience includes performance management; employee relations; compensation planning and management; benefits administration; leadership, management, and employee development; HRIS administration; recruiting; coaching; compliance; facilitation; training; organizational planning and development; and more. 30 years is a long time and she’s been fortunate to have worked for some progressive companies that gave her many opportunities.

In addition to her corporate experience, Michelle has ties to the University of Wisconsin - Madison as a M.S. in Biotechnology Program faculty member; Center for Professional and Executive Development (CPED) coach and trainer; and Continuing Studies trainer. She also mentors entrepreneurs through Merlin Mentors and is active in the Greater Madison Area (GMA) SHRM chapter.

Michelle’s “why” is her belief that employees are the only sustainable competitive advantage. IP can be licensed; equipment can be purchased; processes can be improved. Employee’s hearts, minds, and enthusiasm are the only levers that can’t be duplicated. She is committed to creating workplaces where people can thrive and do their best work. Sometimes that means working with employers who want to create or improve their culture. Sometimes that means working with individuals to help them see their value and find a career or employer that needs their talents.

If you’re looking for down-to-earth, practical, no-nonsense, and intuitive HR support or professional coaching, you’ve come to the right place.

“Michelle is the ideal coach and mentor. She brings all of her strengths and experience to meet you where you are, then works with you as you grow, so that you can propel yourself to your own next level of excellence.”
